Agritechnove teamed up with HOK and its multidisciplinary team of consultants and advisors to undertake this huge project that laterally rose from the desert in the span of 30 months (design and construction). The global project is located in Thuwal, Saudi Arabia and includes 5.5 million SF on 100 acres and is the world’s largest LEED platinum project. R&D Magazine awarded it the “LABORATORY OF THE YEAR” distinction in 2011. Agritechnove is proud to have been a part of a project that created such world-class facilities.

DONALD DANFORTH SCIENCE INSTITUTE NOW UNDER CONSTRUCTION 2012-08-07  
 
The Danforth Center, which attracts an average of nearly $11 million in annual grant and contract funding, has five mechanically cooled greenhouses, 27 evaporative-cooling greenhouses, 28 individual growth chambers, 22 custom-designed growth rooms and 30 customized reach-in chambers.
The third greenhouse range, Greenhouse C, will open next spring. Construction on the $9 million, 20,200-square-foot project is under way. A $2 million grant from the Economic Development Agency, part of the Department of Commerce, will help finance the project along with various bonds.

NEW BAYER CROPSCIENCE RESEARCH GREENHOUSE OPENS 2012-07-20  
 
Bayer CropScience unveiled on Friday its new greenhouse, laboratory and office building in the Research Triangle Park (NC) where the company plans to consolidate its local plant research work. The $20 million, more than 60,000-square-foot, facility will be used for research for the development of new corn and soybean genetic traits, among other work, for the company’s bioscience division.

KOHLER ENVIRONMENTAL CENTER / CHOATE ROSEMARY HALL 2012-06-20  
 
This naturally ventilated greenhouse just opened in June. This very high-end project includes is awaiting its LEED certification. The Environmental Immersion Program Center will provide an intensive residential and academic experience with a focus on the environment. Through a unique residential experience, advanced interdisciplinary course work, purpose-driven research, and outdoor experiences, the program teaches the value of scholarly inquiry in environmental stewardship, the importance of social responsibility to community and the environment, and an appreciation for the natural world.

DARTMOUTH COLLEGE / LIFE SCIENCES CENTER 2012-03-26  
 
Dartmouth’s new Class of 1978 Life Sciences Center has just been awarded a Platinum LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification, the U.S. Green Building Council’s (USGBC) highest level of recognition for energy efficient and sustainable building practices. Its new rooftop greenhouse designed by Agritechnove is part of the building.
